Memorial Day Weekend

We decided it was a perfect time for a day trip and had headed to Chattanooga with Elvis Radio (SiriusXM Channel 76). This is important as you continue to read, especially if you have those moments that you feel just aren't coincidences.
It was raining when we left, but soon the sun came out. When we got to Chattanooga, we first stopped for lattes and scones at Velo. Our destination was the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center. We toured the battlefield last month and didn't have time to go through the center showing the Civil War timeline and dioramas.
The number of deaths considering the time period was mind blowing. We caught a bit of the documentary and toured the bookstore to pick up some history books to add to our personal collection. This is a must for doing genealogy research. Shane's family goes back to the First Migration with many fighting in all the wars ever fought on American soil. In the Civil War, his family fought on both sides. I am still researching the paper trail to get a well-documented picture that I hope to share some day in some written form.

After leaving there, we went to pay our respects to those buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. We still need to research if any of Shane's family is buried there, but the odds are high.
As we pulled into the cemetery with over 64,000 Veteran gravestones, an American Flag stood proudly next to each marker. We paused at the entrance, awestruck by the site. Then, we realized as we sat there that Elvis was feeling it, too. Still with the radio on at the entrance, Elvis' "American Trilogy" was playing. Where we normally pay our respects in silence, we felt it was meant to be this Memorial Day Weekend. As a U.S. Army Veteran and Southern Boy, Elvis did not leave this moment quietly. "Glory, Glory Hallelujah! HIS truth is marching on!"

There was a lot more synchronicity with Elvis than at the cemetery. Shane and I would be having a conversation, and it was like Elvis chimed in with agreement. For example, on our way down, I noticed gas was cheaper in Georgia and we go through parts of Georgia.
I suggested if we could make it, to fill up in Georgia. We did. I asked Shane, "How much" and he said, "Sixty Dollars." I said, "I guess we didn't save much." And we weren't completely paying attention. We were just discussing gas prices and out of no where, Elvis answers, "No, not much" and then the rest of "Suspicious Minds" continued playing in the background.
Before heading home with more Elvis, more synchronicities, it was a trip up Lookout Mountain, grabbing a pizza at Massey's Kitchen. It was an awesome day. Thank you very much!
